Hubert Elkins Obituary

hub-raising-a-glassHubert Elkins, who preferred to be called “Hub”, passed away on November 12, 2016 from an extended illness. He most recently resided in Teaneck, New Jersey. He previously lived in Boca Raton, Florida and Port Washington, New York, where he was a long term member of Community Synagogue. Hub was a member of Mensa and Congregation B’nai Israel.

He leaves 3 sons: Douglas, Andrew and Jay, and 7 grandchildren: James, Nathaniel, Jordan, Sarah, Griffin, Liam & Ethan, 2 daughters-in-law, Vicki and Carol, and is survived by Doug’s partner, Barbara Bashaw and their daughter, Gigi.

Rita Bergman Elkins, his wife of 54 years, passed away in 2007.

He served in the US Navy in World War II. After completing his honorable service, Hub received a degree in engineering from the University of Michigan in 1949. In 1972, he formed Resource Data Systems, an information products distributor. The business was sold in 1996.

He will always be remembered in the hearts and minds of his family and friends.

His funeral will be Thursday, November 17. Please arrive at 11 am for an 11:45 service at Palm Beach National Chapel 10055 Heritage Farms Road, Lake Worth, FL 33449, 561-967-1200.

Interment immediately following service at South Florida National Military Cemetery,6501 North State Road 7, Lake Worth, FL 33449

We will have a Shiva reception for all same day, Thursday, November 17 from 2 pm – 4 pm at Boca Country Club, Address: 17751 Boca Club Blvd, Boca Raton, FL 33487 Phone: (561) 447-3600.

Please come to either the funeral or Shiva call. Hub enjoyed a good crowd!
