Shark attacks are many beachgoers worst nightmare. But on Sunday, this nightmare became a reality for one woman at a beach in Boca Raton.

The 23-year old woman had been bitten in the arm by a 2-foot nurse shark. By the time Boca Raton Fire Rescue arrived at the scene, the shark was still attached to her arm, although it had died by then.

A few witnesses reported that a group of people had found the shark while swimming out in the water, and had been harassing it. However, it is unclear if the victim was a part of this group.

The woman was said to have kept calm during the whole ordeal and was taken to Boca Raton Regional Hospital to recover.
