If you’ve found yourself in Mizner Park in the past year, you’ve likely wandered in the welcoming doors of Our Boat House III, the newest location to market its coastal home furnishings. The store came to be through a mutual, family love for the salt, sea, and sand- started by Lori Auer-Smith and Karen Marcil. Upon its entrance to the Mizner scene followed great success, catching the eye of international manufacturer Mitchell Gold of Mitchell Gold and Bob Williams.

Owners Karen Marcil, Christina Auer, and their crew hosted an event in May for family, friends, and shoppers, catered by neighboring restaurant Kapow! The crew raffled off some goods,  served cocktails and appetizers, greeted their guests, and raised proceeds for the Tri County Humane Society. The guest list was graced by none other than Mitchell Gold, who expressed his admiration for the customer service, quality, and appeal of the store.

The Boca Raton Tribune was able to catch a few words with Gold before the event. With a self-described casual and modern feel to his products, Gold found Our Boat House well-deserving of its successes and perfectly inline with his vision. It’s pieces with clean lines, popping colors, and a practical purpose that draw him to the modern aesthetic he has sought and created himself.

A good-eye, dedication, and a put-together look put Our Boat House on Gold’s radar, who sells his products and allows his lines to be carried very selectively. Known for this exclusivity, Gold equated furniture sales to a symphony, comprised of several components- design, quality, and service. He stressed the importance of location in determining which stores catch his eye- Mizner being a standout location perfectly suited for the coastal decor Our Boat House brings.

Next time you’re walking Mizner, pay Our Boat House a visit. The crew is reflective of their family business origins, setting it apart from your typical Boca/Mizner business model. They’re incredibly personable. Indulge the design-conscious side of you. You’ll walk through the doors and realize you just might be staring at the embodiment of your dream beach house.
