David Reid Obituary

IMG_0517David Reid, longtime resident of and volunteer to the Boca Raton community, passed away on March 31st in Orlando, Florida after a long battle with complications from a stroke. David was born on October 14th, 1953 in Florence, Alabama to the late Homer “Rock” Reid and Patricia Coughlin Reid. In the 1980’s his office supply sales career brought him to South Florida where he would spend the next 25 years before moving to Orlando in 2005. David will be remembered for his dedication to his family and passionate involvement in community service. He directed traffic for over a decade outside of Boca Raton Christian School where his daughters attended, continuing long after both had graduated. He was a regular face at recreational leagues serving as a coach for Boca Hoops, SABR of Boca Raton, the local softball league, and as an announcer for the Boca Mantas Swim Team. David is survived by his longtime wife and partner, Nancy Reid; his two daughters, Niki Reid and Patricia Reid Mason; his son-in-law, Daniel Mason; his grandchildren, Riley and Dylan Reid Mason; his twin brother Mike Reid and younger brother Al Reid, and their families.

A service will be held at 11am on Friday, April 10th, at Chapel Hill Cemetery in Orlando, Florida. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in David Reid’s memory to the National Stroke Association (www.stroke.org).
