Teen charged in multiple robberies

On Tuesday, February 24, at shortly after 3:00 a.m., Boca Raton Police officers responded to a robbery that happened at TD Bank, 2301 North Federal Highway.

The victim originally went to Delray Beach to get money from a TD Bank ATM. After getting the money, he got into his car, but before he could close and lock the door, he was approached by two armed suspects. The suspects demanded his cash and wallet, struck him in the face with the gun, got into the car with him. The suspects then had him drive to a second TD Bank in Boca Raton where he was forced to withdraw $300. The victim then took the suspects to his business at 7600 North Federal Highway, but when he entered the business, he was unable to deactivate the alarm before it sounded, which scared the suspects and they ran off.

Officers located Marquis Pierre-Louis floating on a pool raft in the Intracoastal Waterway several hours later. The victim identified Pierre-Louis as one of the suspects who kidnapped and robbed him. Officers arrested Pierre-Louis, who later admitted to participating in the robbery.

During the arrest process, officers fingerprinted Pierre-Louis. These prints were analyzed and compared to fingerprints recovered from the hood of a truck belonging to the victim of the February 11th Boca Raton Post Office robbery. The prints were determined to be a match. Based on this information, Boca Raton detectives again spoke with Pierre-Louis.

Pierre-Louis admitted to participating in the Post Office robbery and named Kenneth Belvin as the second suspect. He also admitted to participating in several other robberies that were committed in the last few months, including one on January 11 in the 8300 block of NW 7th Court, Boca Raton, one at the Palm Tran Bus Station in Delray Beach (that happened an hour after the Post Office robbery), and one in Ocean Ridge on February 19th. Detectives are investigating to see whether Pierre-Louis is linked to any other crimes in the surrounding area.

Detectives charged Pierre-Louis with armed robbery and kidnapping for the TD Bank ATM crime and one count of robbery for the Post Office crime. Charges for the other crimes are pending further investigation.
