3rd Annual “Gas Buy Down” On Saturday, March 28

After a tremendous response to their “Gas Buy Down” in 2014, The Journey Church of Boca Raton is again offering the community $0.50 off per gallon on gasoline on Saturday, March 28.

The Journey’s “Gas Buy Down” will take place Saturday, March 28, 10:00am – 1:00pm, at the Valero Gas Station located at 1380 N. Federal Highway in Boca Raton (just north of Glades Road).

The church will buy down the price of gas by $0.50/gallon for as many people as possible during the three-hour time frame between 10:00am and 1:00pm, giving drivers the opportunity to take advantage of the lowest gasoline prices in the region.

“After the opportunity to share God’s love in such a practical way last year, we decided to offer another Gas Buy Down this year,” said Jason Hatley, Lead Pastor of The Journey Church. “With gas prices back on the rise, this remains a consistent source of financial strain, so the Gas Buy Down project has been a great way to be a blessing to the people of our community.”

Volunteers from the four-year-old church will be on hand to pump gas and give a break to the wallets of members of the community.

The Journey is a new church in Boca Raton, featuring services each Sunday with casual dress, rockin’ music and practical teaching.  This community outreach opportunity connects nicely with the Easter season.

The Gas Buy Down is far from the first time The Journey will be serving the community. In its first four years, The Journey has successfully partnered with Boca Helping Hands, 4KIDS of South Florida, and C.R.O.S. Ministry’s Gleaning Mission on outreach projects. Hatley says the church is “always on the lookout for creative ways to make a difference in people’s lives.”

The Journey Church is a casual, contemporary, Christian church that meets each Sunday at 9:30am or11:00am, at Boca Raton Community High School (just off Glades Road at I-95, exit 45).  Since its beginning in February 2011, The Journey has grown to a congregation of several hundred that meet each week.
