The awards were held on Wednesday, October 1, to honor volunteer professional and business women in the community dedicated to improving the lives of women all around the world. They especially focus on women who have strong records of local community activism and service.
Held at The Boca West Country Club, the event entertained a crowd of 250 who gathered to support and congratulate the accomplishments of 32 Women of Distinction Nominees. The event kicked off with a large breakfast buffet, followed by a warm introduction by Emily Lilly, Mistress of Ceremonies. Soroptimist member Pat Reed then presented each nominee with a bouquet of yellow roses, a souvenir portrait and a congratulatory plaque.

A superior selection of raffle prizes and auction items also added interest and excitement to the morning affair.
