10 big-name artists to see when they visit South Florida

Who doesn’t love a good concert? The lively atmosphere, the nostalgic feeling, the roar of the screaming fans – it’s what makes a concert a concert. South Florida is the hub for big-name bands and artists, so here are ten of them that will be making their way to local venues soon.


Panic! At The Disco panic at the disco   August 15, 2014 at Mizner Park Amphitheatre – After their album “A Fever You Can’t Sweat Out” and the hit “I Write Sins Not Tragedies”, the band took a bit of a hiatus after their world tour in 2006. Now, the American rock band is back and has returned with their same punk-rock sound, more ready than ever to get back out on the stage.


Brad Paisley Brad_Paisley   August 16, 2014 at Cruzan Amphitheatre – This country singer/songwriter began his music career in 1999 and still tops the country charts today. Three-time Grammy Award winner and Grand Ole Opry member, Paisley never fails to amuse audiences with his humor-laced, pop culture-referenced tracks.


Calvin Harris Calvin Harris August 30, 2014 at LIV NIGHTCLUB – As the highest paid DJ of 2013, Harris has collaborated with a plethora of different artists to produce some of the most well-known hits. While he may not sing or dance, his songs such as “Feel So Close”, “Sweet Nothing”, “I Need Your Love”, and “We Found Love” have been stuck in your head at some point in time.


Drake drake September 3, 2014 at Cruzan Amphitheatre – Drake will be alongside Lil Wayne in this special Young Money performance. Drake, a Canadian recording artist, is the rapper who created the widely used acronym “YOLO”. His music has earned him a Grammy, six BET Awards, and multiple Billboard chart records.


Demi Lovato demi lovato September 14, 2014 at AmericanAirlines Arena – Demi Lovato began her rise to fame in 2008 when she appeared in the Disney Channel television film “Camp Rock.” Her bold, strong voice blew audiences away and she released a solo album later that year. Ever since, Lovato has continued to make music and release hit after feel-good hit. She will be visiting Miami during her world tour titled “Demi World Tour,” promoting her latest album.


One Direction (with 5 Seconds of Summer) one direction   October 5, 2014 at Sun Life Stadium – One Direction’s rise to fame began with their chart topper “What Makes You Beautiful”, and the rest is history. Their music quickly made its way around the world as they instantly stole millions of girls’ hearts. The British boy band’s pop-rock singles will be sure to have you on your feet, and their love songs will be sure to have you in tears.


Foster the People foster the people October 16, 2014 at The Fillmore Miami Beach – From pop to indie to dance-infused rock, the Foster the People’s sound spans many genres. Los Angeles natives, their music has a Californian feel, and their 2010 mega-hit “Pumped Up Kicks” goes to prove just that. Four years after the release of their first album, they launched their latest album, “Supermodel”, and are ready to perform their new music.


Enrique Iglesias enrique October 25, 2014 at AmericanAirlines Arena – Miami native Enrique Iglesias began his music career at an early because of his father, Julio Iglesias. Enrique’s produced 25 Hot Latin Tracks chart-toppers on Billboard and has been named the “King of Dance” as well as the “King of Latin Pop”. Regardless if you know his name, you’ve definitely danced out to his infamous hit, “Bailando”.


Pitbull Pitbull October 26, 2014 at AmericanAirlines Arena – Pitbull, a Miami native and Latin Grammy Award winner, has collaborated on a great amount on number-one hits, such as “Give Me Everything”, “Timber”, “I Know You Want Me”, and “Feel This Moment”. He was also chosen to write and record the official song for the FIFA World Cup 2014, “We Are One (Ole Ola)”, which featured Jennifer Lopez and Claudia Leitte.


The Black Keys the black keys   December 15, 2014 at BB&T Center – The rock duo began their music career together as an independent act – self-producing their albums and recording music in a basement. Their music consists of raw blues influence and strong guitar and drums sounds. After releasing their eighth studio album in May, “Turn Blue” was their first number-one record in the United States.
