Boca Raton Presents: 60 Days of Family Fun

boca miznerStarting February 2, at 2 p.m., the City of Boca Raton will kick off its 60 Days of Family Fun, with music, live entertainment and family-centered activities. The event will take place in Downtown Boca’s Mizner Park Amphitheater at 590 Plaza Real, with a FREE concert by the Florida Youth Orchestra, featuring students of the Principal and Flute Orchestras.

“We are very excited about offering our community a variety of cultural activities and events that appeal to families with children of all ages,” said Chrissy Biagiotti, community relations manager. “These family friendly events will kick off and round out a season of cultural performances under the amphitheater’s big tent.”

For this free event, concert goers are encouraged to bring chairs or blankets – or rent on site for $5 each. Cupcakes, confections, coffee, and other treats will be available for purchase.

–          Arts Power Touring Theater’s production of ‘Are You My Mother?’, based on the beloved children’s book by P.D. Eastman, with two matinee performances

Saturday March 1st, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.

– 1st Annual Health & Wellness Experience:

Presented by the City of Boca Raton, CBS12 and Sun Sentinel, the 1st Annual Health and Wellness Experience will be the “must-see, must attend” health and wellness event in South Florida.  The free, interactive event will offer something for every age and every interest including medical screenings, healthy cooking demonstrations, celebrity appearances and activities for the kids.  As part of National Bike Month, a kid’s safety & fun zone will offer bike helmet safety tips, demonstrations and fittings.  For more information, please call561.881.0702 or visit www.thewellnessexperience.org.   The event is FREE and takes place under the tent.

– Rotary Club of Boca Raton’s 11th Annual Future Stars Performing Arts Competition:

Recognized at South Florida’s most prestigious performing arts competition, this event will showcase the best and brightest local middle and high school vocalists and dancers. The event is FREE and takes place under the tent. Food and beverages will be available for purchase.

Saturday March 29th, 7:30 p.m.

– Peter and the Wolf:  A Magical Evening of Music and Dance

–   The City of Boca Raton will present “Peter and the Wolf:  A Magical Evening of Music and Dance,” featuring the Boca Ballet Theatre and The SYMPHONIA, BOCA RATON.

–   The spectacular dancing of the Boca Ballet Theatre will be featured in both Voyăge Classique from La Source and Peter and the Wolf.  In addition, The SYMPHONIA will perform the Overture from the popular Marriage of Figaro and a concerto, in which they will be joined by the winner of The SYMPHONIA/Allegro Society Youth Music Scholarship.

–    Attendees will have an opportunity to meet and greet ballet and orchestra members as well as touch, feel and learn about the instruments at the instrument “petting zoo.”

–   General admission tickets are $5 per person and available in advance at www.festivalboca.com.  Food and beverages will be available for purchase.

Sunday April 6th, 11:00 a.m.

–  South Florida Parenting presents Egg-a-Palooza

Celebrate the spring season by enjoying an egg hunt, food, crafts, activities and family      fun under the big tent and on the adjoining grass area.
