Rhino Doughnuts & Coffee to open at Mizner Plaza

1452173_646540592065199_1791467761_nWith a belief that all Americans deserve delicious chef-made doughnuts and craft-brewed coffee in a cutting-edge atmosphere, local entrepreneurs Davin Tran and Athan “Tom” Prakas, affectionately recognized as the “CEOS of Dough,” are looking to reinvent the traditional doughnut-and-coffee experience with their creative new concept, Rhino Doughnuts & Coffee.

With four scheduled locations to open in South Florida by spring, Rhino Doughnuts & Coffee will serve chef-made doughnuts and craft-brewed, small-batch-roasted coffee, created from the finest quality ingredients on earth, in über-creative flavor twists and combinations. Prakas, Tran and their staff, known as “Team Rhino,” have a sincere promise for future customers: “These are not your daddy’s doughnuts.”

“Take all your preconceived notions about doughnut and coffee shops and throw them out the window,” says Prakas. “We’re pushing the limits of innovation and creativity with the best-tasting doughnuts you’ll ever have. Our craft-brewed, small-batch-roasted coffee is the perfect complement.”

Rhino Doughnuts & Coffee will soon open at Las Olas Riverfront, Fort Lauderdale; Lauderdale-by-the-Sea; Mizner Plaza, Boca Raton; and Sunrise. Davin and Prakas are also looking for additional Rhino locations throughout South Florida, from north Palm Beach County, as far west as Wellington, to Miami-Dade.

At the company’s own local doughnut plant, Executive Pastry Chef Keith Freiman, formerly pastry chef for Smith & Wollensky and the Boca Raton Resort & Club, will use a secret dough recipe to make doughnuts on a daily basis, providing fresh sweets for each of the area outposts. All glazes and fillings will be made from scratch. Guests can expect exciting flavors such as maple bacon, s’mores and original glazed, as well as classic confections like cinnamon buns, muffins and other inventive choices.
