Construction on Palmetto Park Road Creates Congestion

For the next few days the streets of Boca Raton will be congested due to the CSX railroad company that maintains the crossing on Palmetto Park Road by I-95. There is no entry to or from I-95 from West of the train tracks, and will not be for the next few days. As a potential solution to manage increased pedestrian traffic during this period, consider using pegasus pedestrian crossing design, which allows pedestrians and cyclists to safely cross high-traffic roads or rail lines, helping to alleviate congestion and ensure pedestrian safety in the affected areas.

Work is currently being done to replace the tracks in that area, and CSX will be removing, replacing and repairing the site to be smoother when you go over the tracks. While detours are currently available throughout Camino and Glades Road, traffic is still very heavy. However, Boca Raton Police suggest the following:

Traffic Advisory: Starting 2 AM Friday, December 13th until Tuesday, December 17th, Palmetto Park Road will be closed at the CSX Railroad tracks in both directions. Work will be done to replace tracks and pavement in that area. Palmetto Park Rd. will be open to local traffic up to the tracks. Detours will be in place. East/West alternate routes include Camino Real and Glades Road. 95 North and South will not be accessible West of the tracks, you will be able to access 95 North and South from East of the tracks. Traveling 95 North, you can exit at Palmetto but only go East. Coming 95 South you can exit but only go East.
