Ariana Grande Wins New Artist of the Year at 2013 American Music Awards

Boca Raton’s own, Ariana Grande, was elected the New Artist of the Year at the 2013 American Music Award in Los Angeles at the Nokia Theater on Sunday, November 24.

The 20-year-old songstress, who released her debut album “Yours Truly” on August 30th, was up for New Artist of the Year, alongside Florida Georgia Line, Imagine Dragons, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, and Phillip Phillips.

Grande’s performance of her song “Tattooed Heart,” from her debut album “Yours Truly” showed that the young singer has a bright future ahead of her. With tuxeoed doo-wop back-up singers behind her, and nothing but a spotlight in front, the star of Nickelodeon’s “Sam and Cat” belted out the song with killer range while wearing a beautiful red sequined column dress.

Congratulations once again Ariana Grande from all of us here at The Boca Raton Tribune, your community newspaper.
