KidSafe Foundation Brings Child Safety Programs to Four Boca Elementary Schools

By Bito David

This year, KidSafe Foundation (www.kidsafefoundation.org), with the help of a generous grant from the Salah Foundation, will bring its child safety and prevention education programs to Sunrise Park Elementary, J.C. Mitchell Elementary, Hammock Pointe Elementary, and Coral Sunset Elementary School.

KidSafe will use the grant from the Salah Foundation to provide all four (4) schools with “KidSafe for Kids” an eight-week in school curriculum to Kindergarten, 2nd and 5th graders as well as KidSafe Teacher Workshops and KidSafe Parent Seminars. This grant has the potential to affect nearly (640) Kindergarten students, (564) 2nd graders, (630) 5th graders, (6,908) parents, and (400) teachers with Prevention Education that can help decrease Child Abuse, Bullying, and Internet Dangers.

“We can’t thank the Salah Foundation enough for this generous grant. The impact of providing Prevention Education to the our community is enormous as 1 in 4 girls and 1 in 6 boys will be sexually exploited before the age of 18. 1 in 5 children are bullied every day and 1 in 4 children are solicited for sex online. We have the potential to change these statistics as 95% of abuse and exploitation is preventable through education.” said Sally Berenzweig, KidSafe Foundation Co-founder.

“Every community has a compelling interest in the safety of its children, and it is our hope that leaders in this community recognize the need to have similar child safety and prevention education programs in every local school” said Salah Foundation Board Member George J. Taylor, Esq.
