Astronomer Eduardo Baldaci, will speak at Rotary Club of Boca Raton West

“The star-filled night fascinates us all. People have gazed upward at it in wonder and awe for thousands of years. Regardless of earthly differences in culture, nationality or religion, the heavens are a common meeting ground for all of Earth’s inhabitants. The boundaries we place between us vanish when we look skyward. Whoever, whatever or wherever we are, we all share the same sky.”

Eduardo Baldaci, who is from Mato Grosso, Brazil, and is a member of Astronomers Without Borders, will speak at Rotary Club of Boca Raton West to promote the Project “Meet the Stars” which visits schools, malls and plazas during astronomical events of public interest, such as eclipses, comets and planets in opposition, which means that the event being observed is at the extreme opposite end of the horizon from the sun

He is one of six amateur astronomers in Brazil recognized by NASA, and currently serving as Ombudsman SECRETARY OF STATE FOR EDUCATION OF MATO GROSSO, which coordinates 750 schools in 141 cities.

Angelica Blakely, President of Rotary Club Boca Raton West, says that the club is planning a  “meet the Star” event for September  to give the community an experience they will never forget.
