House cleaner admits to stealing from clients

Boca Raton, FL – On Wednesday, July 10, Boca Raton Police detectives received a call from Delray Beach Police detectives advising that they arrested a male who was in possession of a necklace they believed belonged to a resident in Boca.

Boca Raton detectives met with the male, identified as Joshua Housen.  Housen told detectives that earlier in the day he stole the necklace from a home he cleaned in Boca Raton.  Housen added that he has worked for the same company for over a year and during this time, he has stolen jewelry and cash from numerous homes.

Detectives contacted the cleaning company which employed Housen and got the address of the home on Boca Marina Court that he cleaned earlier in the day.  Detectives met with the home owner and learned that during the last few months, she noticed multiple pieces of jewelry were missing from her home.  The victim identified the necklace found in Housen’s possession as belonging to her.

Housen was charged with theft from a person 65 years of age or older.  The investigation is on-going and detectives believe there may be additional victims.  If you think you may have been a victim of this type of crime, please call Detective Kelly Shifflett at (561) 620-6134.
