Boca Woman Donates 6,000 Books to Moore, OK

Lorette Konezny of Boca Raton, FL decided to help. Knowing that reading can be a source of joy, Konezny decided to donate 6,000 children’s books to the children affected by the tornado in Moore, OK.

To get the books from Boca Raton to Moore, Lorette worked with Steve Ickowitz,who owns Handle With Care Packaging Store in Boca Raton, FL. Partnering with hisfranchisor, Annex Brands, Ickowitz and Annex Brands donated the packing andshipping of the books.

“We are thrilled to have the opportunity to help this generous woman get these booksto the students in Moore,” said Bill Dopp, manager of the Handle With CarePackaging Store. “We hope these books bring the children of Moore encouragementand fun.”

The books were shipped in mid June and are expected to be in the hands of thechildren of Moore this month. They will primarily benefit the two schools destroyedby the tornado, Briarwood Elementary and Plaza Towers Elementary.

“The Moore Public School district is so grateful for all the books received from Florida for Moore Kids,” said Jason Perez, assistant principal of Heritage Trail Elementary and the Donations Office Coordinator. “The faculty and children from Briarwood Elementary and Plaza Towers Elementary will receive full access to these books in hopes that they can rebuild their classroom and personal libraries. It hasbeen such a blessing to receive such support from across the nation. All of us in Moore, Oklahoma are so appreciative for all that has been done for us.”
