Boca Regional Names 'Ruth's Botiqie' In Honor of Longtime Volunteer, Ruth McGoldrick

BOCA RATON, FL – May 20, 2013 – Boca Raton Regional Hospital’s Debbie-Rand Memorial Service League (D-RMSL) recently named its Thrift Shoppe Boutique “Ruth’s Boutique” in honor and recognition of Ruth McGoldrick, Chairman Emeritus of the Debbie-Rand Thrift Shoppe. The Boutique was dedicated in a ceremony held on Wednesday, May 8 at the Thrift Shoppe.

Ruth’s Boutique is a special section of the Debbie-Rand Thrift Shoppe. The Shoppe was established 50 years ago and has since been providing residents of Boca Raton and beyond with extraordinary values in gently used, quality items, including furniture, clothing, jewelry, and household items. The Boutique contains high-end and couture fashion items. Ms. McGoldrick has been the driving force behind the annual Thrift Shoppe Fashion Shows, which feature volunteer models wearing these items.

A longtime D-RMSL volunteer, Ruth joined the League in 1973, and served as its President from 1976 through 1978 and as General Chairman of the Thrift Shoppe from 1980, until being named Chairman Emeritus in May 2012. Under her leadership, the Thrift Shoppe has expanded its position as the D-RMSL’s largest contributor of funds to Boca Raton Regional Hospital, raising an average of more than $450,000 annually. As of June 2012, Ms. McGoldrick had accumulated 38,754 volunteer hours in service to the Thrift Shoppe.
