Fifteen area middle school and high school entrepreneurs, ages 12 to 18, with start-up businesses will present and 12 will ask for investor money to launch their business before July 31st, 2013. One of those 12, who will be “dressed to impress”, will be chosen as The “Saunders Scholar Semi-Finalist” by the judges and will
receive an all-expense paid trip to Rochester, NY to compete with the other YEA! locations around the country (41 of them), April 24th– 25th for a $30,000 college scholarship.
While investor monies will be allocated and announced following the investor panel, the business representing Boca Raton in Rochester will be announced at the opening reception for the FAU Business Plan Competition on April 11th. That event begins at 5:00 p.m. and the winner will be announced no later than 5:30 p.m. Should the Boca YEA! representative come in first or second place in Rochester, he/she will go immediately to the U.S. Chamber Summit in Washington D.C. and get to experience some of the brightest minds in business.
