St. Jude 20th Annual Gala Honorees feted in new Mount Carmel Banquet Hall

Priests, parishioners, families and friends gathered Feb. 23 in the newly completed Mount Carmel Banquet Hall at St. Jude Parish, Boca Raton, to meet and congratulate the 2012-13 honorees, including a famed rock singer who, with his wife, now serves the local church.

“We gather here this evening to honor special people in our St. Jude family,” said Father Michael Kissane purchase daily cialis to open the awards presentation. “We are especially proud to honor Dion DiMucci and his wife Susan, who will be receiving the Christine E. Lynn Our Lady of Mount Carmel Award. Dion, noted singer, songwriter and author, cites his Catholic faith for turning his life around, and today he pursues prison ministry and reaches out to men in addiction recovery.”

Next, Father Michael Driscoll presented the Ronald Assaf Benefactors Award to Don and Becky Campagna for Don’s 10-year commitment to the parish financial committee and their contributions to many fundraisers, including the “Be Part of the Dream” campaign which built the new Mount Carmel Family Life Center and Banquet Hall.      

William R. Curry Jr. received the St. Jude Stewardship Award for his dedication to young people as a teacher of St. Jude confirmation classes for 25 years, and founder of the original Youth group. Bill continues to “fire up” St Jude youth about their faith.

Recipients received a crystal cross as a memento of the occasion. Music by the Nello Masci Orchestra followed.

Gala Honorary Chairs Judy and Jerry Yeager expressed appreciation to the Carmelite Fathers. Special Event coordinators were Marie Leible and Regina Lewis.
