The Boca Raton Historical Society has changed the sign in front of Town Hall to read, Boca Raton History Museum. “The change was made,”
states Jim Ballerano, President of the Board of Trustees, “ to welcome the community into the building to enjoy the history museum inside.” The new sign is part of a re-branding effort by the Historical Society to better engage the community in its local history and to encourage both residents and visitors to visit the museum.
The current exhibit at the Boca Raton History Museum is Native Floridians: Seminole and Miccosukee Art and Culture, which is part of the Viva Florida 500 program, sponsored by the state of Florida. Viva Florida recognizes the 500th anniversary of the discovery of Florida in 1513 and celebrates all the multiple nationalities and communities that have made an impact on the history of the state. Native Floridians features photomurals, clothing and artifacts and will be on display through December 20, 2013.
The Boca Raton Historical Society & Museum is a membership organization dedicated to preserving the past to enrich the future.
