Israel Cancer Association USA Brunch funds research grant

More than 125 guests recently attended Israel Cancer Association USA’s annual Membership Brunch at The National Croquet Center to hear well-known South Florida developer and philanthropist H. Irwin Levy speak on“Southeast Florida and Israel: what

do they have in common?” His remarks highlighted the growth of the Jewish population in Southeast Florida, and the challenges facing Israel today. Claire and Melvin Levine were sponsors of the event.

Brunch guests and Irwin and Ellen Levy’s many friends contributed donations toward an Israel Cancer Association USA (ICA USA) cancer research fellowship grant in the name of Irwin Levy. Their generous donations have funded one full fellowship, and contributions continue to be made toward the funding of a second cancer research grant in Levy’s honor. The sole mission of the nonprofit organization, based in West Palm Beach, is to raise monies for grants that provide Israeli scientists with critical funding to research all cancer diseases. Each grant is for two years and 100% of the funds goes directly to the scientists – not to their institution, nor for ICA USA’s overhead.
