Tropical Storm Isaac Impact in Boca Raton and Palm Beach county

Travelers should check with airlines about flights that may be delayed or canceled.

Palm Beach International Airport was listed among those that may be affected through Tuesday.

Palm Beach County emergency officials met this afternoon to discuss protective actions required  based on the track of Tropical Storm Isaac.

A local state of emergency was declared at 3:00 P.M. The Emergency Operations Center is at Level 2 activation. Three shelters will open at 6 a.m. Sunday for residents who live in flood-prone areas or sub-standard housing, Palm Beach County emergency officials said today.

Palm Beach County libraries, schools and parks will be closed Sunday. Palm Tran Fixed Route and Palm Tran Connection Service on Sunday is canceled.

Because of the forecast calling for high winds, Palm Beach County Public School district officials said today they have canceled all school activitites for Sunday. However, schools are expected to be open on Monday.

Any changes in school operations for Monday will be announced Sunday following the county’s 2 p.m. Emergency Operations Center briefing.
