FAU Football Back on the Field After Day Off

Practice resumed behind the Tom Oxley Athletic Center on Tuesday morning as Florida Atlantic University’s football team had on-field sessions at 9:30 a.m. after having Monday off.

After special teams work, including field goals and kick coverage, the offense and defense had 7-on-7 passing drills. Sharrod Neasman had a nice pass breakup, while Graham Wilbert had completions to Robert Lohnes and freshman wide receiver Jeremy Glinton. In those same drills, Melvin German III hooked up with fullback Chris Jackson as well as newcomer Duron Carter to end the session.

In full 11-on-11, Jonathan Wallace had a long run to the left side, while Stephen Curtis had long gains both with a pass to wideout Daniel McKinney and then with a keeper himself. The final play of the period was a successful deflection to break up a pass by defensive back Christian Milstead.

Wednesday will mark the first two-a-day practice of this camp. Morning practice begins at 9:30 a.m., and the team is back on the field at 6:30 p.m. tomorrow night. Season and single game tickets are on sale and can be purchased through Ticketmaster or by calling 1-866-FAU-Owls. FAU will open the 2012 campaign, Friday, August 31 in its new on-campus stadium versus Wagner College. Practices are closed to the general public and media.
