Boca Ballet Theatre’s 21st Annual “Princely Affair” to honor Countess’ 100th birthday

BOCA RATON– “A Princely Affair” kicks off Boca Ballet Theatre’s 2012-2013 season.

Each year, this social event attracts more than 400 people to the Great Hall of the Boca Raton Resort & Club for a memorable afternoon of dining, dance and prizes.  This year’s luncheon and performance will be held Sunday, November 4 and begins at noon with a mimosa social hour, raffle prizes and silent auctions.

Henrietta Countess de Hoernle will be an honored guest and Boca Ballet Theatre students from the Countess de Hoernle Center for Dance will perform in celebration of her 100th birthday.

Special guest artists this year will be Matthew Dibble and Ashley Bouder.   Dibble, who began his career with the Royal Ballet inLondon, founded K-Ballet inJapan. For the past several years he has worked with legendary choreographer Twyla Tharp, who asked him to star in her most recent production, the Broadway musical Come Fly Away.

A principal dancer with New York City Ballet, Bouder has performed an impressive number of leading roles in NYCB productions such as George Balanchine’s The Nutcracker™, The Sleeping Beauty, Stars and Stripes and Swan Lake.  She has also been a guest artist on the international circuit, dancing the title role in Giselle with Rome Opera Ballet and in Don Quixote with the Kirov.

A Princely Affair includes a grand-prize raffle for a 7-night cruise for two sponsored by Boca Raton Travel & Cruises and Royal Caribbean International.  Giuliano and Judy Lorenzani, owners of Boca Raton Travel & Cruiseshave sponsored the grand-prize raffle for A Princely Affair almost since the event’s inception 21 years ago.

Boca Ballet Theatre productions this year will include The Nutcracker Presented by Marleen Forkas in memory of her late husband, Harold (November 23-25, 2012), Romeo & Juliet (March 22-24, 2013) and Return to Russe (August 3-4, 2013). All performances will be held at Olympic Heights High School’s Performing Arts Center
