Women’s Golf Earns Four All-American Scholars

Coral Springs, Fla. – Four members of the Lynn University women’s golf team have been named to the 2011-12 National Golf Coaches Association All-American Scholar Team, as announced on Friday.

Jessica Bradley (Fr., Bishops Nympton, England), Irene Calvo (So., Madrid, Spain), Louise Manalo (Fr., Brussels, Belgium) and Samantha Smolen (Fr., Lake Worth, Fla.) were all honored for having cumulative GPAs of at least a 3.50.  Bradley is studying Hospitality Management, Calvo Business Administration, Manalo International Relations and Smolen Sports Management.

The Fighting Knights’ four selections tied Florida Southern for the most selections in the Sunshine State Conference while Nova Southeastern and Rollins each notched three honorees followed by Barry with two picks.  The Blue & White tied a school record for most Scholar All-Americans set in 2002-03 when Courtney Krell, Veronica Maldonaldo, Jenny Moss and Ashley Nelson earned recognition.
