The Palm Beach County Water Utilities Department postponed its annual chlorine flush, originally scheduled to start June 14, until further notice in order to supply emergency water to the city of West Palm Beach during the water shortage.
The chlorine flush process requires an increase in hydrant flushing. Due to the interconnect, the two departments would have to perform the maintenance chlorine flush together. The city of West Palm Beach is not inclined to perform increased hydrant flushing at this time.
