HIGHLAND BEACH — On July 5th, County Commissioner Steven L. Abrams presented the town of Highland Beach with $5,000 for maintenance/improvements (including tree planting) to the county-owned property along State Road A1A in the town.
The property was purchased by the county in 1987 with the intent of creating a public park. As a result of numerous challenges over the years, the county and town have agreed to delay the project until 2020.
The funds for these improvements were obtained from impact fees to developers for new construction in the South County area.
