Brian Simpson Concert

By: Jacqui Wyatt

Celebrated keyboardist, composer and studio musician, Brian Simpson has been the ‘go-to’ man for everyone from Janet Jackson and Teena Marie to George Duke, Stanley Clarke, Larry Carlton, George Howard, Billy Cobham, Gerald Albright and Dave Koz, for whom he has had the distinction of being musical director for the past 15 years.

Brian Simpson has earned a stellar reputation for his funky grooves and brilliant melodies. He was a nominee for the 2010 American Smooth Jazz Awards Keyboardist of the Year and, as music director of the Smooth Jazz Cruise, appears before thousands of fans as he performs with such greats as Smokey Robinson, Dave Sanborn, Boney James and many more!

2010 was a breakthrough year for jazz keyboardist Brian Simpson. The 1st single from his debut Shanachie release “South Beach” was the fastest-rising hit of the year on the Smooth Jazz Airplay charts, and it is evident that he has created probably the best work of his career to date.  Every track is a winner, and there is no arguing the fact that Brian Simpson’s genius grows with every release!  His piano/keyboard work, influenced primarily by none other than Oscar Peterson, positively sparkles and dances.

Brian will be performing at Royal Palm Place on Friday, March 18th at Club 303.  This is a concert you won’t want to miss!
