Boca Police nab Broward man on charge of auto theft

BOCA RATON – Boca Raton police arrested a man from Broward County Jan. 26 on a charge of auto theft.

The suspect was identified by police as Baron Howard, 24, of Pompano Beach.

About 6:20 p.m. that day, Boca Raton police officers observed a suspicious truck in the Town Center at Boca Raton mall parking lot near Macy’s. The vehicle, a grey Nissan, was parked with its lights off and three males inside.  The officer confirmed with

police dispatch that the truck was reported stolen by the Broward County Sheriff’s Office.

Boca officers spoke with the three occupants, including the driver, identified as Baron Howard.  Howard told the officers that he borrowed the truck from an acquaintance named Tommy. Howard added that he did not know where Tommy got the truck.  The other two occupants told officers they just went with Howard to the mall and did not know where he got the truck.

Officers arrested Howard for grand theft auto and all three were trespassed from the mall, police said.
