West Boca Medical’s pediatric ER earns Kids Crown award from South Florida Parenting

BOCA RATON — West Boca Medical Center’s pediatric emergency department was selected by South Florida Parenting’s readers for a Kids Crown Award 2010.

“We are honored that South Florida Parenting readers chose to recognize our hospital’s pediatric emergency department for the high level of service and support that we provide to children and their families,” said Mitch Feldman, chief executive officer of West Boca Medical Center. “When kids are sick, they need the attention of skilled health professionals who understand their special needs and our medical staff — enhanced by more than 80 affiliated pediatric specialists and sub-specialists — has this expertise and compassion.”

Instead of sitting in a crowded waiting room surrounded by adult patients, West Boca Medical Center has a separate waiting area just for kids. In fact, it’s West Boca Medical Center’s goal for a health care professional to see each child in 30 minutes or less.

The pediatric emergency room even treats newborns up to children 18 years of age. Doctors and nurses from the pediatric emergency medicine department work closely with the emergency trauma department to stabilize patients and deliver the individualized care that they need, when they need it the most.

Using patient feedback, West Boca Medical Center created a culture called Target 100 with the goal to achieve 100 percent patient satisfaction by delivering superior service and quality healthcare.

West Boca Medical Center, part of Tenet South Florida, is a 195-bed acute care hospital located at 21644 State Road 7 in Boca Raton. West Boca Medical Center has been serving the medical and healthcare needs of its community and surrounding areas for over 20 years.
