Olympic Heights rolls past Spanish River

By Orlando Greenwald

Week two of the regular season seemed like a preseason game for Spanish River.  The Lions were able to set the tone from the beginning, implementing a steady dose of their running attack to score an early touchdown.

They never looked back.

For the second week in a row David Tanis had a strong showing. He scored twice to bring his touchdown total for the year to four. In just two short weeks, Tanis has proved to be an extremely valuable player to the Lion’s offense.

Although Tanis was dominant, it was a combined team effort that secured the 56-0 win. Ralph Dormestoir, Dimas Serrano, Tavon Jenkins and Casey Kinard all scored touchdowns. The Lions ran and threw all over the Shark’s defense, rushing for over 250 yards and passing for another 150 yards.

The Lions defense played well too, coming out strong, fast and displaying a lot of heart in the shut out victory.  The Lions moved to 2-0 on the season.

Next week is a bye, followed by district rivals, Hallandale, on the 24th of this month. GO LIONS!
