BOCA RATON — Perception is everything when it comes to sharing information, and that is deeply reflected in Florida’s tourism industry, according to Maria Hayworth, President of Hayworth Creative. Hayworth was the guest speaker at the June membership breakfast of the Greater Boca Raton Chamber of Commerce held June 10.

Hayworth described numerous factors that affect tourism in Florida – from encephalitis rates to the highly discussed oil spill – and encouraged the crowd of more than 200 to keep their cool in times of crisis.

“As long as you alert your consumers, you should be able to handle the situation,” she said.

The GBRCC’s Monthly Membership Breakfasts are typically held on the second Thursday of every month and feature guest speakers who provide information that is relevant to the current business climate.
