members and students who died in an earthquake while providing service and care to the people of Haiti during the Journey of Hope course in January 2010.

The concerts will be held at 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. in the Keith C. and Elaine Johnson Wold Performing Arts Center on campus. Due to unforeseen circumstances, a planned Saturday concert option is no longer available.

Carrabba said at a news conference this week he wants the concerts to spotlight the importance of active voluntarism and the positive energy it can bring to the world around us. Also at the news conference were Lynn President Kevin Ross and the eight survivors of the “Journey of Hope” group.  The Jan. 12 quake killed four students and two members of the faculty.

The ticket cost of the 6 p.m. concert featuring a Chris Carrabba “unplugged” benefit performance is $300. It will be held in the Schmidt Studio.

The VIP unplugged performance will include a reception with drinks and hors, plus a free ticket to Friday’s 8 p.m. Dashboard Confessional benefit concert with the Lynn University Conservatory of Music’s Philharmonia Orchestra.

Tickets for the 8 p.m. concert are $75 and will also be held in the Wold Performing Arts Center.
