Thursday, January 28, 7 p.m., Florida Atlantic University’s peace studies program in the Dorothy F. Schmidt College of Arts and Letters will present Dr. James Finley with a lecture on “THE CONTEMPLATIVE WAY” in the University Theatre on FAU’s Boca Raton campus, 777 Glades Road, Boca Raton. Tickets are $25 and can be purchased at www.fauevents.com or 800-564-9539. FAU students, faculty and staff may attend for free.
Saturday, January 30, 4 p.m., MUSIC IN THE PARK sponsored by the city’s Recreation Department and featuring the Florida Youth Orchestra. It will be held at Mizner Park Amphitheater. There is no admission charge.
Feb. 5-7, Florida Atlantic University will present the Bill Evans Dance Company for the second annual FAU DANCE THEATRE ENSEMBLE. Performances will be held Friday, February 5 and Saturday, February 6 at 8 pm and Saturday, February 6 and Sunday, February 7 at 2 p.m. in the University Theatre on FAU’s Boca Raton campus, 777 Glades Road. March 4-6, Boca High Performing Arts Department will present the musical, MY FAIR LADY March 4, 5 and 6 at 7 pm., and also March 6 at 2 p.m. in the Kathryn Lindgren Theatre, 1501 NW 15th Court, Boca Raton. Tickets are $8 in advance and $12 at the door. Call 561-338-1633 or visit www.bocadrama.com.
