Statement Released: Grief and Outrage over Deaths of Kidnapped Students in Israel

story_remember_our_boysThis statement on the murder of three kidnapped teens in Israel has been issued from Jewish Federation of South Palm Beach County leaders: Albert W. Gortz, Chair of the Board, and Matthew C. Levin, President & CEO

“The Jewish Federation of South Palm Beach County, our partner agencies and entire community join those in Israel and worldwide in horror, grief and outrage at the murders of Naftali Frenkel, Gilad Sha’ar and Eyal Yifrah. The bodies of these three innocent teens were found today in a field outside of Hebron following their June 12 kidnapping. As Jews, as parents and grandparents, as brothers and sisters, our thoughts and prayers are with the boys’ families as we issue the strongest possible condemnation of these heinous murders. As always, our Jewish community stands together in proud solidarity, shoulder to shoulder with the government and people of Israel at the frontline of Jewish security as they stand up to terror, and we pray that those responsible are swiftly brought to justice. To those who advise us to be patient and allow the Palestinian Authority’s new unity government to succeed, we say, ‘If patience means that Israeli children will be kidnapped and murdered on their way home, our patience has already run out.’ We implore government officials here and worldwide to use the full weight of their leverage and authority to aid in reducing the ability of known terrorist groups to perpetrate such senseless tragedies.”
