Palm Beach County reopens after-hours kennel for lost pets

WEST PALM BEACH — Palm Beach County Animal Care and Control at 7100 Belvedere Road recently reopened the after-hours lost pet kennel that had been closed due to a disease outbreak.

The after-hours kennel is for securing lost pets rescued by citizens when the shelter is closed to the public.  The shelter is open daily to serve the community for domestic animal issues. The hours are:

Monday-Friday 11 am-6 pm

Saturday 10 am-5 pm

Sunday 11 am-4 pm

Animal Care and Control strongly urges pet owners to visit the shelter during regular business hours to search for their lost pet, surrender a pet they can no longer care for, or to adopt a new family member.

For pet owners who must give up their companion animal, owners must come to the shelter during business hours to discuss the pet’s history. This assures that important information is received in order to give the pet a good chance for adoption.

Palm Beach County Animal Care and Control is a safe haven for lost and homeless pets.  Every effort is made to try to reunite lost companions with their families and adopt homeless pets into loving new homes.  The shelter always has a wide variety of well adjusted and healthy dogs and cats available for adoption and recommends families “adopt, don’t shop” when seeking a new animal companion.

Pet owners who have lost their pet can now complete a lost report with a picture of their animal online at www.pbcgov.com/snap.  For more information, pet owners may call 561-233-1200 or visit the shelter during business hours.
