Lynn University’s B.F.A. in drama program to present

Thoroughly Modern Millie

Boca Raton, FL — Lynn University’s College of Arts and Sciences invites guests to sing along as the Bachelor in Fine Arts (B.F.A.) in drama program presents Thoroughly Modern Millie Oct. 16–18.

Based on the 1967 Academy Award-winning film, Thoroughly Modern Millie brings audiences back to the height of the Jazz Age in New York City, as a flapper named Millie Dillmount strives to rewrite the rules of love.

Becky Timms, associate choreographer for the 2002 Broadway show, directs the stage with music provided by Carbonell winner Caryl Fantel. Sophomore CristaMarie DeVito takes her first leading role, starring as Millie Dillmount. Three professional actors from New York City also join the cast.

Thoroughly Modern Millie nabbed the honor of 2002’s most awarded new show on Broadway—we’re fortunate to have original choreographer, Becky Timms, bring the production to life authentically,” said Adam Simpson, chair of Lynn drama. “Her direction paired with the addition of three professional actors provides our students with the mentorship necessary to excel in the competitive world of theater.”

Show times are as follows:

  • Wednesday: 7:30 p.m.
  • Thursday: 12:30 and 7:30 p.m.
  • Friday: 7:30 p.m.

All performances to take place at the Keith C. and Elaine Johnson Wold Performing Arts Center. Tickets may be reserved in person at the Lynn box office, located in the Wold at 3601 N. Military Trail, online at lynn.edu/events or by phone at +1 561-237-9000.
