Beautify Lives of Victims of Domestic Violence

Boca Raton, FL – Bond Street Salon in the Pineapple Grove Arts District of Delray Beach, Florida is helping to nurture the local community through charitable giving. Among its charitable contributions in the community, Bond Street Salon is helping to beautify the lives of victims of domestic violence.  The women-owned Bond Street Salon has been donating a percentage of sales of hair treatments and cuts to support AVDA (Aide to Victims of Domestic Violence). To date, more than $700 has been raised and donated to AVDA.
“Victims of domestic violence suffer with self-esteem issues. At Bond Street Salon, we’re in the business of enhancing the outwardly appearance to complement a beautiful inner self.  Supporting AVDA was a natural fit,” says Bond Street Salon founder Lauren Donald and co-owner Marisa Guglielmo. Both Donald and Guglielmo have been pals since students at Spanish River High School in Boca Raton, Florida.
AVDA (Aide to Victims of Domestic Violence) promotes violence-free relationships and social change by offering alternative choices to end violence and domestic abuse. For more than 30 years, the AVDA mission and services have provided critical support to thousands in the local area.  AVDA is dedicated to empowering and supporting survivors of domestic violence to live violence-free and self-sufficient lives.  AVDA’s philosophy – prevention through education, advocacy and intervention is the ultimate goal. All survivors of family violence should be provided with a safe haven. Victims of domestic violence must be treated with dignity and their right to self-determination encouraged.
Bond Street Salon is an expert in innovative hair styles and superior hair care and provides hair services for men, women, children and the whole family.  This salon is located at 25 N.E. 2nd Avenue/Pineapple  Grove Way in the Ocean City Lumber Plaza in the trendy Pineapple Gove Arts Street District of Downtown Delray Beach, FL.
The salon’s name is inspired by the famous Bond Street road located in the West End of London, England, Great Britain. The Bond Street road in London is in the Mayfair district that became known since the 18th century for its art auction houses and fashionable boutiques.   Bond Street Salon is a women-owned business and was selected as a Five Star Beauty Destination by New Beauty Magazine.
Lauren Donald is the founder of Bond Street Salon which opened in July 2005 in Delray Beach, Florida.   Lauren grew-up in Boca Raton, Florida and graduated from Spanish River High School in Boca Raton, Florida in 1995.  And, it was during her youth, at age 16, that her hair styling career began by apprenticing in several renowned South Florida salons.  In May 1996, at age 19, Lauren moved to London, England and immersed herself into the art of hair cutting. Hair styling took her to Los Angeles, California which was then followed by a move to Lugano, Switzerland .  She returned to South Florida in year 2000 and resides in Delray Beach.
Marisa Guglielmo joined Bond Street Salon as a co-owner in 2017.  She is also the salon’s Master Colorist. Though she was born in Chicago, she graduated from Spanish River High School in Boca Raton, Florida. Now a Delray Beach resident,  Marisa began her career in the Beauty Industry when she was 19-years-old, working at the front desk of a salon in Boca Raton. Since that time, she has apprenticed with a distinquished list of master hair colorists. With more than 20 years of experience she’s also an expert with corrective hair color.
Customers receiving hair treatment services or cuts at Bond Street Salon can designate AVDA as the charity they’d like their service to support with a percentage of those proceeds going to AVDA.  Bond Street Salon is located at 25 NE 2nd Avenue/Pineapple Grove Way, Delray Beach, Florida.
