HELLO HOUSTON, TX.–Here’s Witness Subpoena List Ex Parte Lamar Burks Case #08439680101C concerning our client whom we firmly, no absolutely, incontestably believe, has spent 19 years in prison here for a murder he could not have committed as there’s hard evidence he wasn’t even in Texas when it happened.

Attached please find a list of material witnesses who will provide testimony and evidence to support Mr. Burks’ claim of innocence raised in his active Writ of Habeas Corpus.

Accompanying the witness list is a brief synopsis containing the relevancy of their testimony.  Mr. Wynne, your last face-to-face visit with your client, Mr. Burks, as his lawyer was September 2, 2019 at the Harris County Jail.  We implore you to visit Mr. Burks soon as possible.

The purpose of this blog, which will be provided to all parties including the presiding judge, the Harris County District Clerk, and the court of criminal appeals, is to establish applicants Due Diligence to subpoena and secure witnesses during the evidentiary hearing here on October 29, 2019.  The witnesses and their proposed testimony are as follows:

  1. US Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee 

She will provide testimony and documentary evidence related to the congressional hearing held December 6-7, 2000 in Washington DC. Highlighting federal, criminal, and civil rights violations by former DEA agent Jack Schumacher and Chad Scott the chief architects of the murder indictment against Mr. Burks. Mr. Burks murder conviction was the focal point during these congressional hearings.

  1. Former Harris County District Attorney Patricia R. Lykos

She will provide testimony and documentary evidence related to the firing of former Harris County Assistant District Attorney Craig Goodhart for falsifying evidence and witness tampering in numerous cases including the Burks case. Which resulted in retrials, dismissals, and conviction reversals by the Texas court of criminal appeals. 

  1. Former HPD Police Chief Clarence Bradford 

He will provide testimony and documentary evidence related to the suspension and or termination of HPD firearms examiner Robert Baldwin. Mr. Baldwin mishandling and falsifying ballistics evidence in numerous cases including the Burks case. Which led to retrials, dismissals, and conviction reversals by the Texas court of criminal appeals.

  1. Dr. Luis Sanchez Harris Executive Director and Chief Medical Examiner

He will provide testimony and documentary evidence related to the suspension and or termination of Dr. Patricia Moore Harris County Medical Examiner. Dr. Moore mishandling of evidence and falsifying medical autopsy reports in numerous cases including the Burks case. Which led to retrials, dismissals, and conviction reversals by the Texas court of criminal appeals.

  1. AUSA Timothy Duree
  2. AUSA Steven Mellin
  3. FBI Special Agent Brian D. Ritchie
  4. FBI Special Agent Deborah Celine

These government officials will provide testimony and documentary evidence of financial transactions between former Judge Denise Collins, her husband Rocky Carroll, ex DEA agent Jack Schumacher, and ex DEA agent Chad Scott. In and around the time Mr. Burks’ case was transferred out of the 182nd District Court of Harris Count into the 208th where former Judge Collins was presiding.

  1. Debra GibbsAssistant Director, Classification and Records – Texas Department of Criminal Justice Correctional Institutions Division

She will provide testimony and documentary evidence of multiple meetings between the states sole witness Derevin Whitaker. Former Harris County Assistant District Attorney Craig Goodhart and ex DEA agents Jack Schumacher and Chad Scott while Whitaker was a prisoner at the TDCJ Wallace Unit in Colorado City, Texas.

  1. Lisa Falkenberg, Investigative Reporter and Pulitzer Prize Winning Journalist 

She will provide testimony and documentary evidence of numerous instances of criminal misconduct of former Harris County ADA Craig Goodhart. Which include falsifying medical reports, witness tampering and the slapping of criminal defendant in the middle of trial which resulted in a mistrial.

Yes, it sure has taken a while, but finally, please Lord, at long last, let justice prevail!  We have a great country and our criminal justice system needs to reflect that greatness!
