TBC Corporation Donates Cargo Van to Non-Profit Boca Helping Hands

After learning that the organization’s 25-year-old van was out of commission, employees and executive team jump in to help

Boca RatonWhen the executives and employees of TBC Corporation, the parent company to Tire Kingdom Service Centers and NTB Tire & Service Centers, heard the plea from non-profit Boca Helping Hands to help get their 25-year- old truck used to deliver meals to underserved children and families replaced, they didn’t hesitate to jump in and help.

And boy has help come! The company has donated a 2006 Ford E-250 cargo van to assist with delivering meals to underserved children and families this holiday season and beyond. The Boca Raton-based non-profit focuses on feeding those who need it most. Boca Helping Hands services 10 local elementary schools and approximately 1,200 kids who rely on the organization to deliver food for them to take home for the weekend.

“TBC’s foundation is built upon our core values, including our value to leave everything better,” said Jamie Levin, VP of Communications for TBC Corporation. “When we heard about the need from Boca Helping Hands in the news and from our own associates, we knew we had to help.”

The van is being transported from a TBC Corporation distribution center in Orlando and is expected to arrive in Boca Raton on or around the week of Oct. 14. Once it arrives at one of TBC’s Tire Kingdom shops in Boca, the retail operations team will inspect the vehicle for tire and road safety and perform services free of charge to ensure the van is ready for the holiday season.

With a workforce of more than 10,500 team members, TBC Corporation’s mission — to enable people to live, work and play safely and easily — fuels associates, and the company alike, to support local and national philanthropic organizations with time, funding and passion. Through the company’s Giving Back Initiative, associates have logged countless hours volunteering and supporting various organizations and local efforts, including Rotary Club, internal company bake sales, Meals on Wheels, Salvation Army, Habitat for Humanity, American Heart Association, Boys and Girls Clubs, United Way, Special Olympics, Operation Gratitude, Blessings-in-a- Backpack (supplying 800 backpacks full of school supplies to needy children), Alex’s Lemonade Stand (raising $700,000+ in 13 years to fight childhood cancer) and Thanksgiving-Back (providing household necessities to needy families in Mexico). In addition, the organization has been a longtime supporter of Honda Classic/Honda Classic Cares and SunFest.
