Police Say Shooting Incident at the Town Center Mall was just a Loud Noise

The Boca Raton Town Center Mall has reopened today and is back to operating normally after “shooting” scare on Sunday evening.

Reports had surfaced that there was an active shooter present at the mall after a loud noise was reported and people believed it was gunshots.

SWAT and Boca Raton Police Officers immediately arrived on the scene to assess the situation.

After officers escorted everyone out of the mall and placed it on lockdown, they carried out an extensive investigation.

According to Sun Sentinel, investigators did not find any gunshot evidence and did not identify a suspect. There were no weapons retrieved, no casings, or rounds of ammunition found on the scene.

Chief Alexander confirmed that the tips officers received consisted of a loud noise that is still unidentified.
