Tropical Storm Watch For South Florida is Now Canceled

Florida has been thoroughly tracking Tropical Storm Humberto as it appeared to possibly impact the east coast.

South Florida was put under Tropical Storm watch on Thursday throughout Sunday but as of Saturday morning, the storm watch was canceled.

The National Hurricane Center demonstrated a shift in the disturbance that leads it to continue way farther east.

According to WPTV, the storm is traveling northwest at 7 mph and sustains a maximum wind of 40 mph. While being 30 miles east-northeast of Great Abaco Island and 145 miles east of Grand Bahama Islands.

While Florida is now completely out of the storms “cone of uncertainty”, a tropical storm warning is in effect for Northwestern Bahamas and Andros Island.

As a result of the passing storm, this weekend may see rough ocean conditions and high rip currents in South Florida.
