Packaging Over 15,000 Meals for Needy Families – Rotary Club Boca Raton Sunrise

Boca Raton, FL – What an exciting morning for the Rotary Club of Boca Raton Sunrise as over 70 Rotarians and students from Boca Raton Community High School (BRCHS) and West Boca Raton High School (WBRHS) packaged up 15,000 meals for needy families and children in the Boca Raton area.  The event was hosted by Feeding Children Everywhere, and organization who works with businesses, organizations and “Hunger Heroes” all around the globe to pursue a hunger-free world.

We were also privileged to be joined by Rotary District 6930 Governor Donna Gaiser and her husband Carl, as well as Florida State Representative Tina Polsky, her husband and son.  We worked in four teams to package the individual meals, which are each designed to feed a family of four and completed everything within two hours.  Afterwards everyone was treated to ice cream and the most important part was that Boca Helping Hands came to pick up the meals to help some local families.

What a great morning and a big thank you to Katie Neinas, Interact Faculty Advisor at BRCHS and Stephanie Stiepleman, who is the faculty member overseeing the Academy of Medical Sciences at WBRHS.
