Classically Trained Chef Chi Chan to Bring New Refined Flavors to the Illustrious Waterfront Restaurant

Boca Raton, FL – Mastro’s Ocean Club is pleased to announce Chef Chi Chan as the restaurant’s new Executive Chef. In this role, he will oversee the kitchen staff and daily culinary preparation of the restaurant’s finest quality seafood and steaks.

Born in Hong Kong, Chef Chi began his culinary journey when his family moved to the United States, climbing the ranks from cashier to line cook in his family’s restaurants in Minnesota. Fostering his passion for traditional Chinese cuisine, Chef Chi graduated from Le Cordon Bleu and began his extensive career at many of Minnesota’s most notable restaurants including Mission American Kitchen & Bar, Se7en Sushi, Ultra Lounge and Via Café & Bar, where he secured his first Executive Chef position.

A Fort Lauderdale-transplant, Chef Chi left Minnesota to open Truluck’s and was named “Top Chef 2011 South Florida” by Gold Coast Magazine. Continuing his Fort Lauderdale expedition, Chef Chi perfected the art of sushi and modern Japanese cuisine under the guidance of notable restauranteur, Stephen Starr, working as Chef De Cuisine at Makoto Bal Harbour. Most recently, Chef Chi assisted in the streamline and execution of Farmer’s Table in Boca Raton as the Executive Chef.

Chef Chan’s culinary creativity and expert knowledge of fine dining cuisine will influence the restaurant’s menu. He is thrilled to have the opportunity to bring his bold new flavors to Mastro’s Ocean Club.

Mastro’s Ocean Club offers guests a first-class dining experience in a cosmopolitan and entertaining atmosphere. The restaurant is revered for serving the freshest seafood and mouth watering USDA Prime steaks, complemented with superb appetizers, family-style side dishes and house-made desserts. Guest favorites include Lobster Mashed Potatoes, a two-foot-tall Seafood Tower, delectable sushi selections developed by international famed sushi chef Angel Carbajal of Cabo San Lucas’s Nick-San, and melt-in-your-mouth Warm Butter Cake. Mastro’s also boasts dishes that are exclusively featured on the Fort Lauderdale menu, including Fried Point Judith CalamariFlorida Grouper and Locally Caught Florida Snapper. In addition, Mastro’s Ocean Club offers breathtaking waterfront patio dining and convenient yacht docking for guests arriving by boat.

Mastro’s Ocean Club Fort Lauderdale is located at 300 NE 32nd Ave. Dining room is open Sunday through Thursday from 5 PM – 10 PM; Friday and Saturday 5 PM – 11 PM. Piano Lounge is open daily from
