Dorian downgraded to Category 2, slowly moving north

As of the 11 a.m. update from the National Hurricane Center, Hurricane Dorian is about 110 miles ENE of West Palm Beach, slowly moving northwest at 2 miles per hour, with maximum sustained winds of 110 mph.

The tropical-storm-force wind field is brushing against South Florida right now, and it will continue to linger Tuesday.

According to the National Weather Service, Tuesday is the day most of Southeast Florida will see the highest wind gusts associated with Dorian for our region periodically until 6 p.m..

The 11 a.m. update also stated that despite the storm getting weaker, it is also growing in size. Hurricane-force winds extend outward up to 60 miles from the center, and tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 175 miles.
