Non-profit Chamber members join forces with for-profit Chamber members have been holding events during the month of August. The goal of these events is to raise awareness and funds for the non-profit members’ philanthropic efforts.

On Monday night it was “Back the Blue” as part of the Festival Days (along with sponsor Allegiance Home Health & Rehab) the event was designed to raise communty awareness for the mission of the Boca Raton Police Foundation.

Guests enjoyed great food, networking and silent auction. K9 Dino and Officer Lyman were on hand for a meet & greet as well.

Funds raised will go to provide training, equipment and technology as well as community outreach and retired K9 assistance for the Boca Raton Police Services Department.

Thank you’s went to Back the Blue’s event sponsor, The Florida Printing Group, and additional sponsors Jeff Hollander and Ira Salk as well as event partner/host, Prezzo Boca, and their wonderful staff for making the event possible.

This year, Improv U Comedy Team Business Causal performed a live, fully improvised “Whose Line” style comedy based on the audience suggestions. But first, the audience was warmed up by Boca’s own Cindy Orbach.

Boca Chamber Festival Days continued on Wednesday at Srikes@Boca, hosted by Debralyn and Ronnie Belletieri. The event was “Bingo for a Cause” and the benefactor was the American Association of Caregiving Youth.

The American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk “Kick off” was hosted by Clive Daniel Home. Mark your calendar – the walk will be held on the Boca Raton Campus of FAU on Sunday, October 27th at 8:30AM (Check-In begins at 6:30AM).

The event is a noncompetitive 3 to 5 mile walk that brings people together to make a difference for everyone who has been touched by breast cancer.

The walk raises money to fund innovative research, provide free information and support, and to help people reduce their breast cancer risk or find it early when it’s most treatable.

From the opening ceremony to the post-walk entertainment, a Making Strides event is a celebration of survivors and opportunity to remember loved-ones lost. It’s a day that shouldn’t be missed and won’t be forgotten. To learn more about the Making Strides of South Palm Beach Presented by Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center or for other information, call toll free at 800.227.2345. They’re available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Contact the local American Cancer Society Office, Monday through Friday at: 561.425.9389 (Lynn Curry) or by e-mail at:

Christine E Lynn, Terry and Jerry Fedele

Saturday evening was bittersweet as we joined a group of community benefactors and supporters of the mission of the Boca Raton Regional Hospital to celebrate with Terry and Jerry Fedele, his retirement as CEO.

During Jerry Fedele’s tenure with BRRH, the hospital grew from very dark days with financial statements showing a very deep red to an academic advanced tertiary medical center. The Hospital is a recognized leader in Cardiovascular Care, Oncology, Women’s Health, Orthopedics, Emergency Medicine and the Neurosciences.

Congratulations Jerry!  The community wishes the very best to you and Terry.
