FAU Students Are Once Again Stuck Rooming in Hotel Rooms

Florida Atlantic University has over 30,000 enrolled students and limited dorm space.

Overcrowded dorms have become an issue at FAU once again with the approach of a new fall semester.

WPTV states that more than 100 students will be relocating from dorms, to hotel rooms this fall.

93 students from the FAU Boca campus will be residing at Fairfield Inn and Suites. Whereas, 30 FAU students from the Jupiter campus will be staying at the Courtyard Marriott.

This is not a new issue, as it was reported that students also had to relocate to hotels last year.

In order to help remedy the situation FAU is eliminating Algonquin hall at the Boca campus to ensure 616 new beds. This new hall will not be open until 2021.

The Jupiter campus will also be adding a new residence hall by the year 2021, with 165 new beds for students.
