Strength of Community Partners of South Florida Board of Directors Continues To Grow With The Addition of Peter L. Cruise

Boca Raton, FL— Community Partners of South Florida, a $16 million comprehensive community development nonprofit agency providing services to families facing social, emotional and financial adversity, is excited to announce the addition of Peter L. Cruise, Ph.D. to its stellar board of directors.

By day, Cruise is the Executive Director of the LeRoy Collins Public Ethics Academy and Affiliate Associate Professor at Florida Atlantic University. Both his academic and professional careers have been focused on improving the ethical climate in public sector programs and organizations. He has taught ethics and organizational behavior to both undergraduate and graduate students in universities across the country. Before beginning his academic life, his professional career started in West Palm Beach, working at St. Mary’s Hospital, the Palm Beach Blood Bank, and later at Martin Memorial Hospital in Stuart.

“Peter brings a wealth of knowledge in terms of ethics and organizational behavior to our organization,” shared Scott Hansel, CEO of Community Partners of South Florida.  “He is a longtime resident of our community, understands the intricacies here, and provides a unique view of the people we serve. This will help us continue our growth and success to find approaches for integrating housing and financial empowerment, child and family mental health, and community services.”

Cruise, a resident of West Palm Beach, received his Doctor of Philosophy degree in Public Administration from Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, Florida. In addition to many published articles, he is the co-editor of the Handbook of Organization Theory and Management: The Philosophical Approach (2nd Edition, 2006).  He has been selected by the faculty of the College of Design and Social Inquiry at Florida Atlantic University as a Distinguished Alumnus and has been appointed as a Palm Beach County Ethics Commissioner.
