Carolyn Budd Kassoff (11/21/1933-05/30/2019)

Our Brightest Star

On Thursday, May 30, 2019, the Great Northern Star that shone so brightly for 85 years, guided our family, cared for, cherished, and loved us, passed away after a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s disease. This great star charmed everyone she met with her beauty, wit, and charm.

Born in Elizabeth, NJ, Carolyn came to Miami via Staten Island, NY in 1948 and attended Miami Jackson High School and the University of Miami, where she met her first and only love of 67 years, Norman Kassoff.

Carolyn went on to be a stewardess for National Airlines, followed by a long and illustrious career as a much sought-after print and commercial model. She also mentored countless young women throughout her career, helping them to improve their lives.

Her greatest accomplishments were her two children, Mark Robert Kassoff (Lisa Marie), and Beryl Sue Kassoff-Correia (Claudio). She was an adoring grandmother to Kara Marie Kassoff and Logan Quinn Kassoff, with whom she shared many precious moments. Carolyn was a voracious reader, gourmet cook, gracious hostess, and world traveler.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer’s Association, www.alz.org, would be deeply appreciated by her family.
