Caffe Luna Rosa to Commemorate Memorial Day with Special ‘Missing Man Table’ Honoring Fallen Comrades

Boca Raton, FL – With Memorial Day weekend just days away, Caffe Luna Rosa in Delray Beach will once again have a table set-up but empty – a Missing Man Table – in tribute to servicemen and servicewomen who were never able to return home. The table will include a folded flag, a Bible, a lit candle, a flower, and a plate with a slice of lemon and salt.

This special table is the brainchild of Caffe Luna Rosa Manager Aaron Hallyburton, who joined the restaurant in 2016 after serving 20 years in the U.S. Navy, 13 of them aboard three giant aircraft carriers (Enterprise, Kitty Hawk, John F. Kennedy) and two amphibious assault ships (Bataan, Tarawa).

“In ships and mess halls around the world, there is always a table like this set up year ‘round as a way to remember and pay tribute to those brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country,” says Hallyburton. “It is something we are proud to replicate at Caffe Luna Rosa every Memorial Day.”

“As Americans, we should never forget that at the end of the Vietnam War, for example, we had nearly 2,700 patriots who were ‘unaccounted for’ and did not return as part of Operation Homecoming,” he adds.
